“If clouds are full of water, they pour rain upon the earth.”
When dark clouds hide the sun, they do not extinguish it…and before long the sun shines again.
The thing is, we simply can’t have rain without clouds…likewise we can’t have blessing without troubles. Our troubles have always brought us blessings, and they always will.
I think Nahum puts it wonderfully; “O Lord,”clouds are the dust of [your] feet!” (Nahum 1:3); because it provides a great visual to help us remember that whenever we have dark and cloudy days, we should know that God is near.
The reality is that our God may drench us with grief, but He will refresh us with His mercy…
…and so my prayer today is that we will not worry about the clouds. Instead, let us sing when we see the clouds and showers in our days, knowing that soon they will produce the flowers of our lives…amen!
