“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Today, many of us are struggling just to keep our heads above water. But things don’t have to be this way. Isn’t it time we stopped striving and let Christ fight for us?
We all think we’re in control of our minds…but the reality is that in our effort to feel secure, we have come to rely very heavily on our own thinking. The result is that we have elevated our minds to a position of autonomy…where our mind now controls us and not the other way.
To regain control of our minds we need the intervention of the Holy Spirit. We must ask Him to control our minds…soothing us from the inside out…and allowing us to rest in the shadow of the Almighty while Christ fights for us. (Psalm 91:1)
This is much easier said than done because we’ve been conditioned to believe that we must keep struggling in order to survive. But Christ is calling us to rest in Him. He is saying to us, “I am working on your behalf; so be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
It is my prayer that our minds will be controlled by the Holy Spirit so that we may have rest and find peace…Amen!
