The Lord is our strength to…

“Summon your power, O God; show us Your strength as You have done before.”

Psalm 68:28

The LORD is our strength to go on…

He gives us the power to walk the long, straight, and level path, even when our spirits are depressed with the terrible drudgery of this world.

The LORD is our strength to go up…

He is our power to climb the straight and narrow path up the Hill of Difficulty and not be afraid.

The LORD is Our strength to go down…

It is often once we leave the invigorating heights, where the wind and sunlight have surrounded us, and begin to descend to the more confining, humid, and stifling heat of the valley below, that our hearts grows faint. But the LORD will renew their strength. We will soar on wings like eagles; we will run and not grow weary, we will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

The LORD is our strength to sit still…

Often when we have to sit still we say, “If only I could do something!” It feels like the parent who stands by a sick child but is powerless to heal. What a severe test! Yet to do nothing except to sit still and wait requires tremendous strength. Strength that God provides.

Today in all we strive to accomplish, may the LORD be our strength! May our “competence comes from God” (2 Corinthians 3:5). And may He bless us and increase us as we continue to depend on His strength. Amen.
