“We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in You.
Psalm 33:20–22.
Some of us have forgotten how to hope. We have been disappointed so many times that we don’t want to risk being let down again. So we forge ahead stoically. Mechanically.
Others of us have put our hope in science, the stock market, the lottery, and so on.
But today Christ is challenging us to place our hope fully in Him.
He is challenging us to believe that in Him, no matter what is happening in our lives now, our story has an amazingly happy ending.
He is challenging us to believe that through Him, even though the way ahead may look dark to us, there is brilliant, everlasting light at the end of our earth-journey.
Christ’s finished work on the cross has secured that hope for us. what we should do is hang on the knowledge that our story will end to fill our present journey with Joy.
Let it be our prayer that we will put our hope in Him more and allow His light to shine upon us and brighten our day…amen.
Amen to a very inspiring homily, God bless you abundantly.
