“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.”
Psalm 145:8
God made us. And so He loves all of us…those who ignore Him…those who radically fight against Him….those who legislate laws opposed to His divine precepts…and those who ridicule the righteous.
That does not mean He approves of any of these things or that He is oblivious to them. He still hates sin. But He loves the sinner.
His love is not like the kind we often express, where we say we love, but our actions don’t reflect it.
God loves everyone so much so that He provides a path way for every person to be with Him in eternity.
Admittedly, not all of us have committed the same sins, but we have all sinned and we all fall short of His glory.
And while we were his enemies, sining against Him, He gave his Son to die for our sin.
That is true love!
So during this Advent season, when we pray, we should pray thanking God for His love.
Let us ask Him to forgive us for our many sins. And to help us to never see sin as being acceptable.
Let us pray, asking Him to fill us with love and compassion toward those who have been deceived by the devil.
May He grant us the strength to stand for truth and to share His Gospel with all who will listen. And fill us with love, compassion and forgiveness. Amen
