“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
It only takes disasters like the fires in California for this scripture to suddenly make a lot of sense.
But we shouldn’t wait for all we have on earth to go up in smoke before we start building credit in heaven.
Because every time we affirm our trust in God, we put a coin into His treasury and by so doing, we build up equity in preparation for days of trouble.
I pray that we will practice trusting Him during quiet days, when nothing much seems to be happening…when everything is just fine. That way, when storms come, our trust balance will be sufficient to see us through…amen!
