No shame

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””

1 Samuel 16:7.

It is easy to touch up our outward appearance, to look as if we have it all together. And whilst our attempts to look good can fool most people…God sees straight through us. He sees right m into the depths of our being.

In the face of this, there is no place for pretense in our relationship with God. Rather what we should do is to open up completely to God and rejoice in the relief of being fully understood.

I pray that we will not be ashamed of our struggles and emptiness…of our feelings of inadequacy. Instead, may they present the optimal condition for the Lord to strengthen us, to fill us with His peace…to bless us with His grace and equip us with His power…amen!
