“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. . . . Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:1, 4.
When we are going through hard times, we tend to look back longingly at seasons when our lives seemed easier, and less complicated.
Even our prayers reflect this yearning to go back to earlier, easier circumstances.
But this is not God’s way for us!
Life on earth is a journey—a forward journey — beginning at birth and ending at the gates of heaven.
God is our Guide, and our responsibility is to follow Him wherever He leads.
Sometimes He takes us to places we would rather not go. But as our Shepherd, He always leads us along the best possible path—no matter how painful or confusing it may be.
When our path takes us through a dark valley and we are struggling, Let is look to God for help.
I pray that we will follow Him obediently, trusting Him in the midst of our darkness and confusion.
I pray that we will remember that He is always tenderly present with us each step of our journey…let’s stay close to Him and trust that He will turn our darkness into Light…amen!
