“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.”
2 Corinthians 4:7–8.
The message of salvation in Jesus Christ has been entrusted by God to frail and fallible human beings (“jars of clay”).
We must focus however not on the perishable nature of the container, but on its priceless contents – God’s power dwelling in us.
Being an instrument for God is not an easy road…but it is a delightful and privileged way. And hardships are part of the journey.
God metes them out ever so carefully, in just the right dosage, with a tenderness we can hardly imagine.
And so we mustn’t recoil from afflictions since they are among His most favored gifts.
Rather, knowing that God has blessed us with His power, we should stay in contact with Him all day. And allow His power to surge through us.
I pray that as we begin this week, the work of our hands will bring honor to Him….that through us others will experience the blessings of God. Amen!
