“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
God created us with a great capacity to enjoy beauty and goodness. Our souls resonate with these blessings, and we draw strength from them.
But sometimes we encounter things that make us cringe. Things that are wrong or ugly. And it’s important that we deal with them as we must, but we cannot let them become our focus.
There is too much beauty in the world to allow that to happen. Beauty not only in the visible world but also in what is unseen.
I pray that we will look the right way…toward blessings, toward God…towards the way that will fill us with the Joy of His presence. Amen.
