Chosen…not happenstance

“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

1 Peter 2:9

Many of us attach themselves to hurtful people or harmful things because we yearn to escape our loneliness.

But the truth is we are never really alone. God has chosen us, and we are permanent members of His royal family.

This is a delightful privilege…but it’s also a huge responsibility…because it means He has entrusted us with the task of telling others about Him.

We can’t carry out this assignment unless we delve into the riches of who He is by studying His Word.

I pray that today instead of feeling lonely, we will make some time to learn something about our King, our brother, and High Priest; Jesus.

And as we do so, may the Joy of His presence shine from our face and cause others to ask what makes us glow. amen!
