“But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.”
We tend to think of trust and gratitude as good manners. We are told all our lives to trust and obey our parents and to say please and thank you before and after every sentence.
But in the spiritual realm, trust and gratitude are the weapons that get us safely through today.
Trust protects us from worrying and obsessing.
Gratitude keeps us from criticizing and complaining.
To trust God means in every situation we must chose to keep our eyes on Him…no matter the situation.
It’s tough and we often fail unconsciously. But the more we choose to trust Him, the easier it becomes.
Over time thought patterns of trust become etched into our brains…and before long we will choose Him automatically.
I pray that today we will consciously trust the Lord with all our troubles. And as we do so, may those troubles be relegated to the periphery of our minds so that joy, peace and gratitude can be central in our thoughts…Amen!
