“When Jesus had finished all these sayings, He said to His disciples, “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.” Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the High Priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill Him. But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”
When life seems chaotic, when things seem not to cohere…especially when people betray us…we should take great comfort in remembering Jesus’ own experience.
Though people plotted against Him and even succeeded in executing their plan…they could not thwart the plan of God.
We should take comfort in knowing that nothing can interfere with the plan God has for our life!
The death of Christ was no mistake…it was central to God’s plan: that we may find life, through His blood shed for us, and experience an exodus from the slavery of sin to the freedom of living in His love.
Likewise our challenges are no mistake. They are central to Gods plan for our lives.
Gracious Father, thank you for being in control of my live, especially when I feel desperately out of control. Center me in the One who is central to Your plan. Through the Holy Spirit, enable me to trust in Christ that I might experience a true exodus from that which binds, controls and hold me back…and having experienced the forgiveness of sin, may I live daily in the freedom of Your love. In Christ’s Name. Amen!
