“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the LORD Almighty.

A boy on a bicycle was pedaling uphill. Just as he was exerting the greatest effort and yet seemed to be loosing the battle against the him…a pickup truck also going up the hill approached him.

It was not traveling too fast, so the boy grabbed hold of a rail at the rear, and like a bird he went up the hill effortlessly as though gliding through the sky.

Like that boy on the bicycle, we are pedaling uphill against all kinds of opposition and most of us are all but worn out from it all.

But nearby there is great power available…just like that pickup truck…the strength of the Lord is close by.

All we have to do is reach out to Him and maintain contact with Him.

Even if we grab hold with only one little finger of faith…it will be enough to make His power ours to accomplish the act of service that now overwhelms us.

Prayer

Dear God, may the story of this boy on his bicycle will help me to set aside my weariness and to recognize that the only time I am strong…is when I give up my strength and rely solely on Yours…Amen!
