Seeing what Job saw…

“He knows the way that I take.”

Job 23:10

No matter what we face in life….our ‘way’ of trials and tears, however winding, hidden, or tangled…we can trust that “God knows the way”!

So much pain would be removed from many of our agonizing trials if only we could see what Job saw during his time of severe affliction…

He saw nothing but the hand of God!

He saw God’s hand behind the swords of the Sabeans who attacked his servants and cattle.

He saw God’s hand giving wings to the mighty desert winds, which swept away his children.

And he saw God’s hand in the dreadful silence of his shattered home.

By seeing God in everything, Job could say, “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” Job 1:21.

Incredibly, his faith reached its peak when this once-powerful prince of the desert “sat among the ashes” Job 2:8 and could still say, “Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him” Job 13:15.

Prayer

Dear God, help me to never dethrone You by giving the devil credit for anything that goes wrong in my life. May I always see Your hand in every aspect of my being especially my trials, and may my faith be strengthened knowing that You are in full control of the “way you take me.” Amen!
