The Good Old Days

“The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like deer feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!”

Habakkuk 3:19 AMP.

Sometimes we look back nostalgically at the “good old days”…and we yearn for that easier, less complicated time in our lives.

But we must recognize that time for what it was – base camp.

It was a time and place of preparation for now…and now is preparation for the adventure ahead of us.

This journey of life is like a mountain with its top hidden in the clouds. And in as much as it is impossible to know how much more we have to go, we cannot stop because the higher we go, the better the view.

Therefore let’s not get bogged down by the challenges and the weariness of today…instead, let us take the time to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the day!

All the time remembering that this journey with Christ is training us to see from a heavenly perspective, which is far above and transcends all our circumstances.

The higher up the mountain we climb, the steeper and more challenging our path becomes….but also the greater the adventure!

Prayer

Dear God, it’s Monday…and I’m back on the grind. Grant me the strength to push on, encouraged by the fact that the higher I go with You, the closer I am to the fulfillment of the plans You have for me. Amen.

  1. The fulfillment of the plans the has for us, is our goal . May the lord continue to guide us when we’re struggling to keep the pace through Christ our lord and saviour. Amen
