Starting right

“The Lord said to Moses…Be ready in the morning, and then come up on Mount Sinai. Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain….”

Exodus 34:1–2

The morning is a critically important time of day.

We really shouldn’t face the day until we have faced God, neither should we look into the face of others until we have looked into His.

As Christians we must begin the work of every day after having been influenced by reflective, quiet moments between our heart and God.

Even Jesus, who was God Himself, found it necessary to seek the counsel of His father before He began His day.

Even if it’s just for a few minutes, let us make it a point to interact with no one until after we have been properly recharged by the companion of our lives —Jesus Christ.

Think of it like recharging our phone. We are religious about that…so why not our souls…

Prayer

Dear God, help me to develop the habit of meeting with You alone and regularly…so that I may be recharged and ready to face the ordinary, and unique responsibilities of each day with the influence, control and the power of Your character. Amen!
