“Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you?”
We find the expression “the living God” several times in the Scriptures, and yet in our daily lives we constantly lose sight of the fact that God is the living God.
We forget that He is today exactly what He was at the beginning of time…that He has the same sovereign power. And we often overlook the fact that He will do for us now what He did thousands of years ago for others, simply because He is the unchanging, living God.
That alone is a great reason to confide in Him. And in our times of joy…or sorrow…we must never lose sight of the fact that He is still, and ever will be, the living God!
Dear God…when I’m happy I look to the You and thank You for being the living God. I even brag to others about “My living God.” But when I’m sad I forget who You are and sometimes even question Your very existence. I pray that by Your grace I will always have the assurance that if I walk with You, look to You, and expect help from You…You will never fail me. Amen!
