“Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Psalm 143:10 NIV
Doing God’s will means submitting to Him.
We cannot just read the Bible and say we agree with it…and then live our lives as we please.
If we truly agree, we must obey.
We must act on our faith…i.e. not walk in fear because we will know God is with us… not lose hope because we will know we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us… and not give into temptation, instead submit to God’s way.
God promises that if we resist the devil and all his temptations, the devil will flee from us…and He God will draw close to us.
In as much as these are wonderful promises, they require a choice and a decision from us.
Our loyalty cannot be divided between God and giving into the temptations around us. God must come first!
We must agree with His Word. We must purify our hearts by seeking forgiveness in Christ when we fail. And we must choose to obey Him, trusting that He will give us the strength.
Dear God, I completely agree with your Word…but sometimes I fail. Please help me to turn that agreement into action by submitting every area of my life completely to you. Amen.
