Running ragged

“The LORD gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:29–31

We spend vast amounts of time, energy, and money on efforts to strengthen their bodies…some of us use various stimulants to avoid or disguise weariness.

However, weakness and weariness are simply part of the reality of living in a fallen world and in a fallen body.

As this week begins, Christ invites us to come into His presence confidently, with all our weariness and weakness.

This week let us make time just to be with Him…let down our guard and tell Him how tired we really are…

Dear God, there are so many activities all week and during the weekend that I often don’t get the physical or spiritual renewal I need. Please grant me the time this week to spend time with You so that You may refresh me and bless me abundantly with spiritual, emotional, and physical strength…Amen!

  1. Well said, may the lord forgive and grant us the strength to perceive and embrace his goodness in life with the direction of the Holy Spirit. Amen
