Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.”
1 Samuel 1:15
Sometimes we feel desperate for change in our lives.
The routine of life can be so mundane and we pray to God for something fresh or new to manifest.
Hannah prayed desperately to God for a son. She was weary and was probably surrounded by reminders of what she didn’t have. So she poured out her soul before the Lord with an intensity that didn’t waver.
Does that sound familiar?
As Christians we have many seasons where we are desperate for change.
We feel like something has to give…pressure has to subside and responsibilities have to lift.
When we feel like this, we must trust God with the direction for our lives. God knows what we need when we need it.
What we should do is seek God for a renewed mind and guidance for direction.
Dear God, thank you for guiding and directing my life in every season. At times when I am restless for change, help me to learn to be content with where you have me…but also guide me and give me the courage to pursue new opportunities that You have for me. Amen.
