I will remain quiet…

“I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place.

Isaiah 18:4.

God always has another point of view…

Why did Jesus watch His disciples straining at the oars through the stormy night?

Why did He allow Lazarus to slowly pass through the stages of his terminal illness, succumb to death, and was finally be buried in a rocky tomb?

Jesus was simply waiting for the perfect moment when He could intercede most effectively.

Likewise, with us, even thought He may be quiet, He is attentive and still sees everything.

He has His finger on our pulse and is keenly aware of all that is happening to us…and He will come to save us when the perfect moment arrives.

So as we see the evil of this world…as we watch the apparent success of wrongdoers…and as we suffer the oppression of those who hate us, let us be encouraged by these miraculous words of God, “I will remain quiet and will look on.”

Dear God, I know I often accuse You of being slow and unresponsive. But teach me to be patient and to trust that You are not an unsure or fearful Savior…but rather You are the savior who will deliver me just in time. Amen.
