Today let’s be thankful

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.”

Psalm 89:15.

Half the time when we pray we are complaining about something or asking for something.

And we do this because we feel we haven’t been blessed enough…at least not to our satisfaction.

But this behavior is counterproductive because according to scripture the way to be blessed is not by asking for blessing, but by giving praise and adoration to God. By acclaiming Him!

Bottom line…thankfulness opens our hearts to His presence and our minds to His thoughts…and in that state…all we see around us are His blessings.

Dear God, I believe everyday we talk I ask You for something. Today I just want to say thank You and to praise Your name. Grant me the grace to see all things through the light of Your presence. So that I may see things from Your perspective and will be filled with Your joy even though I may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances. Amen!

  1. I learnt from the beginning of this year that a prayer of thanksgiving answered my heart’s desires faster than complaining and wailing to God. It has been my testimony to friends and I am glad I received a confirmation here. God bless you Rev. Akua.
