To queue or not to queue

“Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.

Luke 18:1

Most of us pray about specific things…and are waiting for a specific result…in a specific amount of time…like immediately 😃

So when we don’t receive an immediate answer we simply stop praying and look for other alternatives or we just decide that God isn’t able to deliver or just doesn’t care.

What Jesus teaches us in the parable of the woman and the judge is that sometimes we just have to keep at it.

Sometimes the answer is not ‘no’ or even silence. Sometimes the answer is ‘not yet My child…just wait’

We can’t always expect microwave results.

Sometimes we must labor in prayer, and through the power of prayer and persistence we will receive our answer.

Dear God, I hate waiting in queues and sometimes when I pray and I don’t get an answer I feel like I’m in a queue and I’m tempted to walk away. Grant me to patience to see the value of persisting and the wisdom to know that if man can deliver at the end of a queue…how much more You God. In Your name I pray. Amen.
