“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Matthew 22:37

What does it mean exactly to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”?

And how about that second greatest command: “Love your neighbor as yourself”?

It is one thing to say them, but quite another to live them out. Yet that’s what Jesus calls us to do…to love God with every part of our being, and to love our neighbors too.

And its not a part-time thing…we need to do this all the time and everywhere…at work, at school, at the store, on the road, with family and friends, with neighbors and strangers.

The good thing is that we can trust that God is with us every step of the way to help and guide us.

Prayer

Dear God, I know I don’t always behave in ways that are loving towards You or my neighbours. Help me to love You with every part of my being, and guide me to love my neighbors especially when I’m upset and not being the best me. In your name, Amen.
