What is the Kingdom of God?

‘The kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed; nor will they say, “Look, here it is!” or “There it is!” For, in fact, the kingdom of God is among you.’”

Luke 17:20-21

“What is the Kingdom of God?”

That is probably one of the most challenging questions for many Christians to answer.

Jesus, whilst on earth, used several parables, and analogies to try to describe the Kingdom. But somehow it remained unclear. It seemed as though the Kingdom would arrive with a physical manifestation, and on a defined date.

Then He said, “… in fact, the Kingdom of God is among you.” In other words, the Kingdom is like a national…and the collective of those who carry its passport are the nation…and that passport is the Holy Spirit.

Each of us, when we profess Christ become part of the Kingdom of God. And in our daily lives, just as we take pride in our nationality and showing off our national colors…so too must we take pride in our Kingdom and show off our Kingdom colors; the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for making me a member of Your Kingdom. Help me to live a life worthy of Your Holy Spirit. And by the fruits of my life, may I draw others into Your Kingdom. Amen.
