Be rooted and stable in Him

“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”

Luke 21:6

Many of us define our roots by our possessions; our home, our companies, our friends, and our family. But Jesus reminds us that outside of Him, nothing is permanent.

He therefore calls us to be rooted and stable in Him and be ready to shed everything.

As we approach Advent and prepare for the coming of Christ, let us remain firm in our faith.  Let us remember that just as each day starts at dawn and dies at dusk, so too will all things pass.  But if we are in Him and He is in us, then who we are and what we have planted in Him will never pass.

Prayer

Dear God, teach me to root my life, my family and my possessions in You.  Because in You there is resurrection.  In You everything that is torn down will be restored. Let that be my comfort and security as I transition from one stage of my life to another.  Amen.
