“But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.”
This scripture seems completely counter-intuitive, because this call to trust challenges our habits of anxiety and worry. However, it is an invitation to live in the present moment, where Jesus meets us and says, “Peace be with you!”
Christ is not saying we should not prepare for exams, or for our presentations at work tomorrow. What He is saying is that we should make room for Him in our world.
He is saying that even after we have studied, and rehearsed and done all we can do…we must allow room in our hearts and minds for Him to operate and take us to the next level.
Dear God, give me the peace after I have prepared to allow You to work and use my foolishness to confound the wise. Amen
