How to start a movement

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.”

Matthew 4:23

Given that He is God, Jesus could have kicked off His ministry anywhere. So why choose little, unknown Galilee?

I think most of us would have gone for a more established place like Rome or Jerusalem to get the biggest bang for our buck.  But Jesus had a strategy, which we often miss because we are so focused on the end result.

For Jesus, His mission was more than just getting to the point of His crucifixion. It was also about finding people who were far away from God…to heal and equip them so that they also would find, heal, and equip others in His name.

He wasn’t just looking to make a statement. He was looking to start a movement.

We also can start a movement by making disciples for Jesus right where we are.

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for finding me. Help me to be an active part of this movement that You have began. Show me how to connect with the lost for You. Amen.
