““Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”And immediately the leprosy left him.”
Have you ever approached God with language like ‘if ‘ or ‘maybe’?
In the days of Jesus, the life of a leper was filled with so much rejection, that most lepers had very low expectations of everyone.
They were used to expecting nothing from life! So it was natural for a leper to wonder if he could expect anything…even from Jesus. That’s why this leper began his plea with “If …”
Some of us have become like lepers…we have been so banged up by life that we wonder if any goodness is due us…so when we pray we say “If …” to God.
But be assured…God is willing. And like He did for the leper, He will heal our diseases too, in His perfect time according to His perfect will.
Dear God, thank You for Your willingness to heal me in all the ways that I need to be healed. Amen.
