“Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, ‘Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?”
Sometimes in our zeal to bring others to our level of relationship with Christ we ask the question, ‘Why do you not do as I do?’
But each of us has our own path to Jesus.
And as loving, compassionate people we should not force others along our path, nor allow anyone to make us follow them.
Each of us has the Holy Spirit to guide our steps. It takes time, effort and prayer. But on our path we find peace, the peace which the world cannot give.
Dear God, I’m sorry for all the times I tried to impose my path to You on someone else. My intentions were good, but my approach was poor. Teach me instead to pray for others that they may be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and come to know You more. Amen.
