And he said, ‘Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in the prophet’s home town.
Jesus experienced rejection from those whom He was trying to help.
He may have felt shocked, angry, even depressed. The Scriptures don’t say how He felt…but certainly however He felt, He did not sin.
What about us…how do we feel when others reject us? What do we do with our feelings? When we hear things that hurt our pride, do we attack the speakers?
We must remember that as good as our intentions may be…we always run the risk of meeting the same kind of rejection that Jesus met. And like Him we must keep doing good and not despair.
Dear God, help me not to give in to despair when a relationship is difficult. Let me be more humble and always seek feedback…even if it may be painful. Amen.
